Parmelia Hilton Perth participates in Earth Hour

Parmelia Hilton Perth has joined the fight to combat climate change by participating in Earth Hour 2009. On 28 March between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, the hotel will switch off lights and turn on awareness.

Originating in Australia, Earth Hour has become a global movement and in 2009 aims to reach 1 billion people in 1,000 cities. If successful it will be the world's largest community event.

At the Parmelia Hilton Perth guests will be advised of the hotel's support of Earth Hour and encouraged to assist by limiting the lighting in their rooms. The hotel will turn off signage lights, exterior lights and all non-essential operational lights. Lighting will be reduced in the lobby, corridors, back of house and service areas. Team members will wear Earth Hour t-shirts supplied by Hotel supplier, Kailis Bros.

A special three course 'Earth Hour' menu will be served in the Adelphi Steak House & Globe Restaurant on the 28 March. The menu features organic produce and energy saving cooking methods and will be handwritten on hand made paper. Dinner will be served by candlelight.
